LAB Description

The South Australian Tissue Typing Service (SATT) is the state reference centre (including Northern Territory) for histocompatibility testing for bone marrow & solid organ transplantation. Service includes - HLA antigen typing, crossmatching and monitoring for organ, bone marrow and cord blood transplantation. HLA typing is also performed for donors joining the ABMDR. Disease association testing defines disease susceptibility genes located in the MHC region.

The aim of SATT is to attain world’s best practice in transplantation matching enabling long term graft survival.

  • 24 hour on call service for deceased organ donor type & matching
